No Me Without You

my newest school project involved a re-imagination of my "red hair" drawings. i collaborated with my friend sara winston to bring my twins to life. click through to sara's blog or my flickr to see the rest of the set. i like the way sara described it best:

Recently, Emilia Olsen and I made these photographs based off of some of her Red Hair I & II drawings. It is the beginning of a longer collaboration, and it is off to a great start. The conjoined hair contemplates the love/hate tendencies, typically between young, adolescent girls as their relationships develop into adulthood and they become less dependent on one another. There is the embrace, despair, and disquiet, of tenderly growing apart.

i started a new series involving the "red hair girls" i've drawn in the past. they're all pretty small drawings, and i'd like to think about making them into a small book or something along those lines. you can click here to view more of the narrative. i'll be slowly adding on to it on the future, too, so check back.
